Would it be possible to get the "newer" keyboard layout in the next release or are we stuck with the old one?

cannot promise, but perhaps, yes!

still waiting on input of the people who tested my version. i must know, if the keys are off, or the keys fit and there is only blank space on the right in landscape.

Oh dear :( i have just noticed something very annoying just started using Swype so not to sure about this, it's censored
Hang on quick update it seems not to swype f**k or c**t but once i have typed those words in letter by letter they are working as swype entries
This is all very silly i don't need some software designer censoring what i write on my phone but oh gosh some poor innocent might see a naughty word if they were included in the standard predictive text and then the sky would fall down

Website! wrote:ah s**t! i can't get Serbian lang to work with this release. i tried to rename Serbian pack in to Ukrainian, but it won't work that way. :(
any ideas?

It is working, you just didn't use the appropriate language for renaming and that's all. Ukrainian language support required two extra files in assets/files, and then, you also need to change keyboard names since the Ukrainian keyboard layout is not using qwertzy like Serbian Latin. Of course it is possible to do it in a hard way, but why scratching your left ear with your right hand instead the left one? So, for everyone that is confused with this renaming, switching, etc., just follow this logic: first find out what is the layout for your desirable language you want to put in, then find the already supported language in this package which is using the same layout, all the other layouts you can easily dump from the keyboard directory and that way make your installation lighter. Then rename the appropriate files in assets/files and you're ready to go.

Ok thanks got it now, purely a personal opinion but as all of these bad words are included in every good dictionary i am a bit miffed that this sort of censorship/safety feature whatever it is has been included. As someone who has just passed the big 50 mark i have heard these words a million times and not only do they fail to shock me but IMHO used correctly are some of the finest words in the English language. So why some **** of a software writer would spend God only knows how much time making lists of potentially offensive words i have no idea!

HAHA don't believe it apparently the Vietnamese currency is a naughty word DONG

Has he done this with every language?

Censoring and not including in pre installed language files are two separate things. Is it so hard to type in those words one time?
Imagine a profit based company which pre instals such words.no good press.

Magla, I will add above instructions to the new tutorial. I understand right, you can use the language files from 2.4 ?

@mad-murdock
Yes i fully understand the corporate/profit making/PR type logic behind this, just totally bemused that someone who swypes f**k accidentally or deliberately needs this sort of nannying, whatever next calculators which when you turn them upside down to reveal a rude word go into a blank screen mode!!
In most countries i know of you don't have to be 18 to buy a comprehensive dictionary

That's right, Murdock. Works a treat and seems that only difference between 2.x versions are based strictly on the language packs for different world regions and appropriate resource and license files.

I just changeg the serbian/ english release from magla111 and added slovenian.

That's the easiest and most proper way, zaver. Serbian and Slovenian keyboard has the same layout as Slovak which I used for customizing.
Good job.

Does anyone know how to remove diacritic chars in SMS-es?
I used to have this in 1.61.
I've removed unwanted languages but also would like to avoid paying extra (they use more message space than regular chars) for useless diacritic chars.
