Let's do some troubleshooting... For those who were successful or not-successful, please answer this question. :)

How are people installing this APK?

Are you installing it by opening the APK file in a file manager?
or
Are you copying the file to your SD card, rebooting your device into recovery, and installing the APK "Install from SD Card" on to the Device this way?

I install it by dling it to the phone and opening APK file in a file manager. And I also have the problem when switching between keyboards. It wont come back until I uninstall and re-install it.

it's obviously not an installation problem. (installing an app from recovery????) It's either a programming error or a problem with the cracked version.
I suspect the first one.
In the meantime went back to version 3.2

I agree.
Would be interested to see if anyone has installed this APK as a System App (stored on internal memory with Android OS and other Apps).

I wonder when 4.x stable will be available :S
Hmmm... I'm just going to buy it... $6 is nothing!

Every other App that has been developed well and actively supported by the developer, I always purchase.
e.g. MyBackup Pro, Titanium Backup, AndroZip Pro, CardioTrainer Pro, SpeedView Pro, AppMonster Pro, MobileBiz Billing, Due Today (Astrid is so weak), Locus Pro, Maverick Pro, CounterPath Bria VoIP, beOrganised... etc... etc...

Buying it I'll get instant updates - so it's worth it...

I have paid the ~$6 for SLIDEIT v4.0.

I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS CREATING SMS'S OR EMAILS WITH A RANDOM KEYBOARD, AND SWITCHING HALFWAY THROUGH TO A DIFFERENT KEYBOARD.

E.G. TYPE A SENTANCE WITH SLIDEIT. CHANGE TO TOUCH INPUT. TYPE A SENTANCE WITH TOUCH INPUT. CHANGE TO SLIDEIT. CONTINUE TYPING (OR SLIDING) WITH SLIDEIT.

SLIDEIT WILL CONTINUE TO WRITE NORMALLY.

INSTALLATION:
The steps I performed while un-installing version 3.2 was:
- Click on application under Settings
- I simply un-installed the application. (I did not manually "Wipe data".)
- I then checked and only had 2 keyboards in the system.
- I went to the Market and purchased the v4.0 keyboard for approx $6.
- It downloaded and installed.
- Enabled keyboard under Keyboards in Settings.
- No problems using SlideIT and switching to any other keyboard, and then switching back to SlideIT.

SUMMARY:
- There are no problems changing from SlideIT v4.0 to Touch Input or Gingerbread Keyboard, typing for a while, and then changing back to SlideIT v4.0!

Strange solution for me... SlideIT 4 was not working once again (have uninstalled and reinstalled three times).

To make it work again, I went to Titanium Backup and only choose "wipe data" on SlideIT 4.
Now it works again. Sure, I had to fix all my settings once again but the strange thing is that it works as it should,
at least for now. I can switch between keyboards. If anything changes I'll do an edit and update this post.

My solution was to restore the data i backed up using titanium. Works everytime. No need to uninstall or reset your settings.

I'm having zero problems changing keyboards, and using ALL features...

I've downloaded and installed v4.0.1 update. Perhaps you guys need to use this update?

PM me to share the latest update! :)

Yeah, I'm sure buying apps is great. The only downside is that you have to pay real money :P
