I have a noob question: I already have a preinstalled swype on my galaxy s phone. I wanted to update the version, but I'm quite scared of taking the risk. If in case I decide to revert back to the preinstalled one, can it be done?

Is there a normal English for WVGA854 around? There is a flat black version but not the standard one....

Your phone must be rooted. Install Titanium backup, make a backup of your original swype, uninstall original swipe, install any swype that you want to try. To revert: uninstall swype and from Titanium backup restore the original version..

is there any other version then the WVGA one?
not so many phones are WVGA . or can this be used on other resolutions?

I am not really liking this new "Swype Connect" feature in Swype 3.25 beta. The latest version of Swype that does not contain "Swype Connect" can be found in the CDMA EVO Roms on XDA. The latest version of Swype without "Swype Connect" is v3.21.87.28626. The license.dat from Swype v3.8 can be used with Swype v3.21. All the language files from v3.8 can also be used in v3.21. Swype v3.21 seems to be the latest version that does not connect to some unknown Swype servers and send them my statistical typing data.

Is there any version compatible with Motarola Xoom?

The only Swype that has not been ripped yet is the one from the Galaxy Tab 10.1. I believe the Galaxy Tab runs on Honeycomb so that version of Swype might be compatible with the Xoom.

Edit: I just posted v3.9 for WXGA. Give that a try.
