PERFECT! Thanks for these two packages....

important for other users eventually: I had to totally uninstall old swype version before installing this one in order to be able to change languages 8)

thanks for the tip, i will try to uninstall it again, and then again looking if there are any settings saved, which are not removed on uninstalling ...

thanks, it is working, after removing all old stuff from swype, then it works :)

Has anyone happened to see a flat black version of 3.25 qHD? I can't stand Swype's default theme...

(although all the other lang files are there in /assets/files folder but as said language setting is grayed out)

Same problem here. Language select is greyed out. Only works in english. Need EnglishUS and French. Would love to know how to fix. I have an older version which works great. I did uninstall before trying the new one (3 times)

Thanks,

J.

If anyone wants to try to make their own packages, just start with the EN (US) only package that I posted and add the additional language/keyboard/tutorial files from the multilanguage package. The versions of the EN (US) only package and the multilanguage package must match in order for this to work. Don't forget to edit the languages.lst and helplanguages.lst files, and sign.

Swype_EN_WVGA_3.25.91.31083-signed.apk (2.59 MB)

Of course, this is only going to work if you want WVGA because that is what the multilanguage package's resolution is. But, you can also resize all the keyboard files with something like Gimp or Photoshop and edit SwypeScreen.ini to adjust the resolution. You can find examples of the SwypeScreen.ini in various apks I have posted and also pay attention to the naming of the files in assets/keyboards. The name of the extension of the keyboard file is defined inside SwypeScreen.ini.

Edited by Moderator:

Site Rule #6.2 Do not ask for requests in the release threads. (like in the gps section: Can you please upload map xxx as well?) This should be done in the request section.

I don't think anyone has posted a Chinese version yet. Swype v3.8 has many EU languages, but not Chinese.

swype support Chinese for HVGA & WVGA
my defy screen resolution is FWVGA
when i update by swype installer, the swype of FWVGA does not include Chinese
but if you got the muti language WVGA swype,i think i may include Chinese? :)

leoparis wrote:Thanks for your prompt response! For some reason 3.8 didn't work for me (the posted by badmania in 3.5 forum). I get a licence error and can't change the language (probably the two problems are related). That's why I was trying this one.

Start with Swype v3.8 EN_US Only (the one I posted in that 3.5 thread), then get the multilanguage apk and just add the other language files and keyboard files to the EN Only one I did. EN_US can not be removed from swype without losing text on the keyboard, so don't try to create a version of Swype without EN_US. It should work then. Dont forget to edit the languages.lst and helplanguages.lst to add the languages you want.

I have done all the steps but when I try to set serbian as language I get the message "Open of SerbianLA failed!"
