I can confirm that you have to dubble tap to space it was the same for update before so I rolled back to 4.7 build 20 and works fine

I had hope in this modded version but nope..

With the recent helium versions I have a bug where I can't edit the settings. Or atleast do so well. None of the settings respond to normal touch, I have to spam-tap to get into a setting. Yet sliders work and moving left-right between setting pages work.
That bug I could handle cus eventually after a bunch of tapping, hoping to be able to change a setting, I can get my stuff just right..
But there's another one where the Space Bar Gestures 'screen'(where it shows left/right, Move etc) stays up and I can't interact with the keyboard anymore until I put the keyboard down and bring it up again. This is the one that keeps me from using any new version that has this screen, all of them have this problem for me.
Also a big annoyance with newer versions is that when 'show symbols on keys' is enabled but the number row is not, the numbers don't show on the qwertyuiop keys anymore. They used to.

So I'm stuck on using version 7.4.2 from January 2018 that has none of these problems. But that version has some performance issues, keys missing when I happen to type too fast.

If anyone has any ideas on how to fix said bugs or if others are facing them as well, let me know.
