A much better app for this sort of thing is Clayframes:

v2.8 of Clayframes is out, but I think the difference between v2.8 and v2.7 is minimal.

Not only will Clayframes create time lapse, but it also creates onion-skin overlays so you can make claymation stop-action. And when you're finished, it can export to AVI, as well as give you a folder full of individual jpegs. If you're on a PC, you can get yourself something like Claymation Studio to change the frame rate (Clayframes will also do this), as well as add background audio and a few other tricks.
