Looking through the app forum, it's more or less there. I've just tried, and it didn't work for me.
Tried 3 formats: 9 figure number no spaces, 9 figure number with +country code in front, and the 9 figure number in 3 pieces.
with the country code, it almost worked. It inserted a < sign after the + and left off the last digit

The developer is really good at addressing issues. I would go to his website and email him your request. They're really good at addressing issues to make their app better. I've put in several request myself.
