Amazon is establishing a new own market place for Android Apps and Games.
Its in independent to Google's Android Market.

For starters, every "free" app they offer is altered, meaning that it's required for Amazon AppStore to be installed before they'll run.
If you uninstall the AppStore after having installed any of their "free" apps, those apps will cease to function.

Also great if you live overseas and can't access the US Google market. All you need is a US address, a US phone number and US credit card number. You can access it by entering fake information but this could get you banned;)

dont forget you also need a credit card when you signup or you cant download anything not even the free stuff. which is stupid

You only get charged when you purchase a paid app, free apps are free. You have to create an Amazon account and have a credit card/form of payment on file though like stated previously. Any apps you download/own will be saved in your Amazon account.

But in the first post it says: "Get a great paid app for free every day."

Doesn't that mean I don't have to pay for paid apps?

Yeah they have been giving out a free app every day since they opened.
