My 23GB removed from 2 accounts. Anyone else?

same here all dropbox account remove 23GB. back to old 2.25 go space

Yeah I lost mine also, then I went looking and found this.

"The official Dropbox 23GB HTC promotion will not start until sometime early this month, when the devices are released. To earn the extra 23GB of extra Dropbox space you will need to link your HTC Sense 4.0 device to your Dropbox account and complete “Get Started.”

The method to earn 23GB that is being circulated on the XDA Developers forum and on other blogs and forums is illegitimate. We plan to remove any space received using this method.

Downloading apps from unknown sources is not a good idea, as they might have been modified to include malicious code. We strongly recommend that you only install the Android Dropbox app via Google Play (formerly known as the the Android Market) or from official download links on Dropbox.com.

I can confirm too... lost my 23 GB space. ugh... The other thread here for the patched dropbox ipk seems to have been removed as well...

Well hopefully someone will figure out a way to hack it again being that the actual promotion is starting/has started.

I was thinking about the hack for Angry Birds Space to enable the Samsung levels....


Just edit /system/build.prop and change
ro.product.model= to "ro.product.model=GT-I9100"
ro.product.manufacturer= to "ro.product.manufacturer=samsung"


What if we changed that to the HTC One? Does anyone know the correct product model for it?

Mine was removed too, saw it just now, didnt recognise before... :-\ Maybe the buildprop-trick will work. Will try this tomorrow.

edit: Unlinked and uninstalled DB App, changed some entries in build.prop to the values i've found in a build.prop of a HTC Pyramid, reboot, installed app, logged in, foto-upload activated, made a foto, uploaded another random file too... Nothing changed , seems didn't recognise as a sense (3.5) device. Can anybody give a hint whitch entries dropbox is checking to verify the device-type?

lol yeah... there doing a double referrals up to 16gb right now ,....

You need Sense 4.0 and the HTC One series of phones. Nothing else will work. Still need to know if anyone can unlock the space again.
