it does work for browsing but can't download anything from the market.

Wrong. Sometimes WiFi isn't possible, so sometimes in offices or somewhere else. Not every town/country build hotspots for their users. So, sometimes, there is no WiFi available.
Also WiFi is sometimes not secure enough. Even WiFi may be slower than connecting & downloading though USB. Hint: Gameloft-Games.
You should only evaluate programs according to their function, if you need it yourself . There are users, needing such apps. You & me maybe not.

Again... wrong.

I don't have internet on my phone and the only way to sync the calendar is to find a wifi spot or this software. Many of us don't have broadband and many of us don't use a sim that gives internet.

can you upload the new version of this app?
