Im having issues with the initial login. The facebook popup shows for a split second then disappears and nothing happens.

uninstall app on ur mobile.Please go to facebook on computer/facebook/Privacy setting/Ads, Apps and Websites/removed friendcaster app and install again on your mobile.

Error every time i check my notifications.

Done that but still have that login issue on my HP TouchPad.

I was able to avoid the problem by restoring data from an older version of Friendcaster that I could login with

It didn't work for me either. I don't know how to restore old data.

Use TitaniumBackup to backup a working version of Friendcaster (may have to download it and do the login and all that) then install the new Friendcaster and go into TitaniumBackup and restore Data only

Kept having issues with 5.095 not going to notification links.
Installed this over 5.095 and all is working good.

I understand you are fairly new to this scene, but this isn't the developers thread. Send your bug reports to the developer via Google Play.

BTW, Messages are working fine on 5.0.9.6
