AquaMail is an email app for Android 2.1 and higher.Easy automatic setup for popular email services (Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, and more).
Support for many other email services via standard Internet email protocols: IMAP, POP3, SMTP. This includes many corporate email servers, such as Lotus Notes and Exchange, provided that the administrators enabled IMAP/SMTP (no support for ActiveSync or EWS).
Push mail (IMAP IDLE, instant incoming email delivery) for those servers that support it (Gmail, GMX and more).
Plays well with other email programs that you may be using to access your IMAP mailbox. Uses existing folder structure, can synchronize drafts, sent, and deleted messages.
Can save attachments on the memory card.
Widgets (message counts, message list).
Message auto-fit (like in Gmail) on Android 4.0 and above.
Rich text formatting (when writing messages).
Integration with Tasker (change settings, trigger mail check).
Integration with Light Flow, Enhanced SMS & Caller ID, Cloud Print, Apex Launcher Pro, Nova Launcher / Tesla Unread, Executive Assistant, DashClock Widget.
Lots of settings to configure the application just the way *you* would like. Separate settings for WiFi and mobile connections.
This is the Lite version, which is limited to two accounts, no identities, and adds a promo signature to all outgoing messages with a link to the program's web site.
You can add more than two accounts, use identites, and remove the signature by purchasing the Pro key here on Market at any time.

major limitation to this app... you cannot attach any file type you wish when sending an email.
if you wish to attach a txt, zip, apk or a pdf... forget it! aquamail can't do it. useless...
this app only allows media files to be sent as attachments.
inomail is the only app that gives you a file explorer display to search for a file to attach to an outgoung email. Inomail is hard to use though (prefs page is very hard to return to).

NOT TRUE
- tested by attaching a txt and an apk file from gmail to ymail
- checked with ymail, all ok
- checked with AquaMail, all ok, more context options than in YMail
- when attaching, use ES FileExplorer, best, offering 2 methods of attaching: 1-Android normal way, 2-As a file
- with ES FileExplorer you can attach any kind of file
- RootExplorer offers only 1 method (as a file)

i don't want to use ES file explorer.
so aqua mail cannot work correctly unless i use this other app? it cannot use other file managers, just this one. that is a limitation IMHO.

Have been using Aqua Mail for the past 2 years without the 'problems' mentioned above.
Using Root Explorer, just sent an apk and also a pdf via Aqua with no issues.
Ok... WHAT I AM SAYING HERE IS TRUE FOR MY DEVICE.
i am having these 'problems'. they are not imaginary or invented.
just because you claim not to have this issue does not mean it is not happening on my tablet. It is happening on my device, as i have described them above! you are not the sole arbiter of reality or experience. it is nice for you that your android setup works correctly with this app but it does not work properly for me. i am forced to install a further 3rd party app to get it to work. nothing you are saying or experiencing can refute this statement.
only a patronising troll (or a control freak) would continue to post comments here denying the reality of my issue with aquamail. i am pleased you are having no problems with his app, but i am.
nothing you can say will 'debunk' this, so please stop trying.

i tried k9 yesterday. same issue as aquaman. inomail does attach files correctly but it is awkward to use.
i use a samsung tab tablet with v4.11. as an app developer i am well aware that android is a strange beast. maybe this is to do with android?

you mean that inomail has its own file browser. ok, that's true, but I don't see why this is a problem for k9 mail.
You have to use a file browser on your device anyway
