Lucky Patcher worked for me!

Install Plex
Open Lucky Patcher
Locate Plex
Open Menu of Patches
Choose "Support patch for InApp and LVL emulation"
Make sure the top two boxes are checked, none of the others and hit Apply
After it does it's thing, it should say that you have a 20% chance of it working..
Launch Plex and select something from your library
When it prompts you to activate, click the $4.99 option
Lucky should pop up and ask if you want to try and get it for free..
Put a check in the middle box (to restore purchases for later) and hit Yes
Profit!

If it doesn't work for you, then you are doing something wrong. I've said it before and I'll say it again that it is possible to
patch these Plex apk's. If you insist that it doesn't work, then I'm sorry and it's your loss. But I am watching CSI: Cyber as I type this on my Galaxy S5 and it's been playing for 20 minutes already... So explain that.

Thanks AthieN, it worked for me, with the following adjustments..

Install Plex
Open Lucky Patcher
Locate Plex
Open Menu of Patches
Choose "Support patch for InApp and LVL emulation"
Make sure the top two boxes are checked, none of the others and hit Apply
After it does it's thing, it should say that you have a 20% chance of it working.. (Patch Results)

* leave lucky patcher running in the background
* un-install plex
* go back to lucky patcher
* select "go to file"
* open the (plex) file
* select "install"
* follow the install prompts

Launch Plex and select something from your library
When it prompts you to activate, click the $4.99 option (it came up as $0.00 for me)
Lucky should pop up and ask if you want to try and get it for free..
Put a check in the middle box (to restore purchases for later) and hit Yes

This method has worked on 3 devices for me
