i am glad it is working for you.

i am not sure what your question is. you can try the radio button and it will pick new songs. you can enable caching so that it does not have to download each song, too.

First I want to thank you soooo much for cracking grooveshark. I honestly didn't think it would happen so I can't even tell you how excited I was to see it here the other day!

I only have one issue with the program that I thought I'd pop in and post about. I have the option checked to cache songs for offline playing and I even allocated more space than the default amount. I pulled up the popular playlist and let it run for a while. When I went and checked the Offline section it showed no songs. I then checked in the settings and it tells me that it has a certain amount of space taken up. It seems that the songs may be caching but the app can't find the songs once they're cached.

I cleared the cache, quit grooveshark and tried again with the same results. I will try a few more trouble shooting steps like reinstalling the app and trying it with my own playlist instead of the "popular" playlist. I will edit this post to report my findings.

Fyi I'm running an unmodified Droid x (aka unrooted and with the stock firmware).

in my tests the app realized the song was cached and pulled it from there. i will look into this. it could very well be a legit bug. sometimes you can fix the problem by rebooting and or reinstalling. playlists never worked for me either.

I found a solution for the playlists that works for me. Log in on PC, create new playlist, and add songs there. Then on the phone, go to playlists, menu, refresh, and songs will appear there :D
As said, for me it works!

Just installed and works like a charm guys, even when getting the song to be saved for the offline database. Thanks :)

Thanks for this, i'm not sure if it's the crack or just the app but I frequently get stuck in a loop of 'unknown media errors' I see this is a known bug for playlists but outside of that I still often get them on single songs.

BUT, this is sometimes fixed with a Close then Restart! Noticed on some songs that wouldn't stream I could still just save them for offline and then play them that way :P

Edit: Wow as if prompted by my post it now logs me out every time I try to play anything and says my trial has expired :(

Closed and restarted it, still the same. Settings menu still shows as if it is VIP too.

I created an account but I don't know where it tells me if its a VIP or not? An image would be helpful.

At the top of the settings page it will either say something about a trial or will just say "Logged in as xxx" if you are 'VIP'

But mine isn't working even with it think it is VIP

Edit: Uninstalled, reinstalled. seems to have fooled it again for now 8)

Hmm so what's the difference between VIP and trial? When I logged onto grooveshark on my computer, it said payment option under VIP...

main difference: trial only works for 7 days or 50 songs, whichever comes first.

Well I uninstalled and reinstalled, restarted the phone, etc. No troubleshooting has resolved the issue with the offline caching. It still is saving data but not allowing me to access the songs offline. I guess I'll stop it from caching songs till that issue is resolved.

As for the reports of this version not actually tricking the vip thing correctly I can't confirm or deny that one way or another yet. I'm gonna try to let it hit the 50 song mark at work today and see what happens.

I'm not sure you are understanding this feature correctly, as I understand it:

Caching the songs just means that if you access the same song again it won't have to download all of the data each time. Offline saving is purely that, for offline. You need to select tracks and choose this option for each track, it's a VIP feature which should limit you to a certain number of tracks I believe although I think the crack might be getting around that too.
