How do you install this file?

Seriously?

If you aren't kidding:

1) Download app (.apk file)

2) Place .apk file on Android phone (hope you know how to do this... if not, phone -- USB -- computer or stick it on a microSD card)

3) Use a file explorer (you should have a default file explorer app called "Files" or something like that), navigate to the .apk file, and select it to install it

4) Enjoy

I'm not kidding...;)

But I have a zip file...

I'm going to rename the zip in apk... :)

Need to be careful with what sites you upload the apk's to for some reason everytime I try to download this in windows 7 it keeps automatically renaming apk extension to zip, no matter what file sharing server I try.

He's not kidding it does the same to me, this is why people zip the apk's and include a paper (Sure the paper is pointless) but every site I've used and tried to download the APK from it automatically renames the APK extension to ZIP. Also if I try to rename it to APK and install it gives me a PARSE error.

Then when/if ya try to unzip that it says
META-INF >>INSIDE THAT FOLDER>> MANIFEST.MF, MYKEY.RSA, MYKEY.SF
res >>INSIDE THAT FOLDER>> Bunch of other folders too many to list
AndroidManifest.xml
classes.dex
resources.arsc

for those with problematic zip extensions have you tried renaming it before hitting save on the download!?

eg: when the dialogue box appears to save something click in the filename box to rename the apk etc and put it in quotes like this > "playerpro.apk" when you now save it it will save it with the apk extension instead of zip etc! :)

note some machines have file association to show .apk to associate with your zip manager such as winzip etc so the other alternative is copy it to your phone as it is and rename it on your phone using a file manger such as Astro :)
