First off: THANKS to the uploader! :D

Review: Works great on my Galaxy Note with HW decoding, it plays 1080p.Bluray.x264 scene release movies very smoothly on the 1280x800 screen. 720p.HDTV.x264 and 720p.WEB-DL.x264 (iTunes with DRM removed) TV shows also look fantastic. I didn't test any xvid or containers other than .MKV but since it's based on FFMPEG code I see no reason why it won't handle these formats with just as much aplomb.

I like the battery usage meter and time displays when you touch the screen, the way it saves playing position automatically so you can come back to a file and the skip function is especially well implemented - you set the time you want to skip (so 10 seconds for example to skip "Coming Up" segments) but if you rapidly press the skip button it increases the mount of time it skips every time it's pressed so you can get to 10 minutes with 5 or so rapid presses.

One peeve I have with this player is a lack of audio options - literally none, the only way to adjust volume is using the volume rocker + phone media volume options (the latter involves leaving the player). I was using Bluetooth audio, not sure if this situation improves using headphones or speaker. I can foresee a time when I have content that needs a preamp like function like in FFDShow Audio ... but other than that I like it. I couldn't get FPS display to work (possibly due to using HW decoding) however it plays HD material very smoothly just by looking at it with even long and fast panning sequences showing almost no choppiness at all.

Rating: 4/5
