how does this work? because IP addresses change all the time
pretty sure not every house has a static IP address

I have the tivimate logo version 2.8.0 installed and it works well but it is eating up my storage.
I empty the cahe regularly but the data keeps growing and is now nearly 3GB!
Is that normal?

Yes I noticed this with the v2.8.0 mod too. The cache would grow to huge amounts in a very short space of time, I also noticed this with the v2.7.5 mod too. However if you switch down to the v2.7.0 mod there is no cache issue.

Oh I see. The only solution I can think of is to create a backup file of your data, clear the data on tivimate (to clear the excess build up in the data/cache files) & restore from your backup file every few days. I had an issue with the v2.7.0 mod back in the day where my EPG would completely disappear every 5 days or so & what I've suggested above is what I used to do to restore everything as it was without completely losing everything & having to start from scratch.

In the end I just legit paid for Tivimate as I thought the app was actually that good & it seemed impossible for anyone to mod past v2.8.0 - the current version is now v4.4.0.

Gotta mention that OTT Navigator is a very good alternative to Tivimate & is modded up to the latest version- That may also be worth a try - I use OTT Navigator on my mobile & Tivimate on my 4K Fire Stick for my IPTV sub, I give both a big thumbs up.

I can't find the path to modify the xml file

This unlock method does work for version 4.2, 4.3, and 4.4, however the device "must be rooted", otherwise it will not work. It needs to be rooted in order to access/modify the folder: "ar.tvplayer.tv" or you will get permission denied.

It would be more convenient to prepackage it with a modified xml integrated, but it detects a signature every time the package is installed which will not work if/when the xml is integrated.

I forgot to mention that as OTT-navigator been my second favorite player which only had two options that were lacking to be on par with Tivimate and according to the new additions for their latest version 1.6.7.2, they appear to have added one of the two options which is:

- preview: config to start preview on clicking channel, and using second click to start playing fullscreen

any trick to modify hosts file?

Only Rooted phone can edit hosts file, I rooted/jailbreak a lot of phones, pretty easy and it depends, always buy a phone that best fit, find any phone root on XDA and you can do it yourself, Mi phones are good enough these days cheaper and, no doubt that OTT Navigator is best but there is no alternate to TiviMate, have premium, even if you buy it allows you to install over 5 devices if premium.

If you have a rooted device just install 2.8, run it for one time and see if premium is active, then install 4.3.0 over it (rooted device needed) and you will have 4.3.0 premium active.

I tried this on a rooted device, and I just get "App not installed" every time when I try to update the Premium version of 2.8 from Mobilism with a 4.x apk from apkpure (Play Store doesn't acknowledge the 2.8 app has an update).

Or did you mean something else by "install over"? Thanks!
