Works on my Android 6 box by deleting data and uninstalling the previous version then installing this new version. I had to confirm I wanted the version without ads and that's what I got.

IPTV 3 section works but most of the others won't load. I don't use a VPN.

install root rights and with lucky patcher remove/disable ads
