Please replace powertube downloder with newpipe downloder.
Your old mod had internally integrated newpipe downloder and was far better than powertube

Revanced is still in its early stage so I'll prefer stable over beta anyday.

For the issue that you're facing. Follow below mentioned methods :

1) You can use https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/magisk-module-systemless-debloater-replace.4180083/ and debloat YouTube app. Using Vanced manager install rooted version, then playstore won't update the app.

2) you can use hidemyapplist xposed module and hide YouTube from playstore so it won't update.

But root should not matter, ReV
