I'm not familiar with "tohandr"... also, Rydah just released his patched version yesterday. I'm not saying this is actually his work, but I'm a bit suspicious. Anyone have some background info?

****One of his Twitter followers noticed that his patched version had a significantly larger file size than the market version. Rydah replied that he hadn't noticed and that he'd look into it.

Yeah the sizes are different.

tohandr patched Pandora on the russian forum 4pda.
I have unpacked, analyzed the file, and scanned it through virustotal; it seems clean. Since we have 3 choices now for Pandora, do whatever feels the safest to you. Ask yourself though: how can you trust the other releases?

arman, thanks for the explanation! I hope you didn't take offense to my 'better safe than sorry' attitude - it's one that has served me very well when dealing with hacked, patched or cracked software. Now that you've explained things a bit and I can feel more comfortable with your release, here's my assessment of the available options for Pandora 5.0:

• This release - seems like a lot of people are running into issues with this release. As the releaser, arman68 explained, he is not the one who cracked this app, he is simply re-releasing tohandr's work. Thus, we are likely to see very little support for this version.
• Rydah's release - the files size of his apk was almost double that of the market version. As mickey4mice seems to have discovered, the increase in size is due to a few watermarked images inside the apk that Rydah forgot to compress. It appears that Rydah is no longer active on Mobilism, however he is very active on Twitter, and may be willing to provide some support on there if asked nicely. He has been very successful at modding Pandora in the past. His releases are typically 100% ad free, with unlimited skips and higher audio quality enabled. EDIT: Apparently some users have also complained that Rydah's version doesn't have Facebook Connect.
• Pandora Patcher - it requires Xposed framework to be installed; Xposed framework has been known to mess with Titanium Backup (it breaks batch operations and other important features - check the most recent Titanium Backup thread for details). Additionally, it seems some users are getting ads.

• My current choice is Rydah's release. Yes, you'll have to deal with a slightly larger app, but unless you have an old phone with very limited storage, I assume that shouldn't be a big deal. Rydah's release can be obtained via his Twitter (link above) or from the Blapkmarket (you'll have to google that one).
• If you want to use Xposed Framework, and you'd like to get the Pandora app directly from the Market, then Pandora Patcher is the choice for you. However, more testing (and probably updates) are needed to resolve the issue of ads getting through for some people.
