The Aurélio Digital App brings all the contents of the 5th edition of Aurélio Buarque de Holanda Ferreira's renowned work, the Aurélio Dictionary of the Portuguese Language, which has over 435,000 entries, definitions and phrases.
With words, meanings and expressions that reflect our time, in words from different fields of knowledge and from different levels and registers, this dictionary has the indication of the 3,000 most frequent words in the contemporary written language, counted and selected from a collection of more of 5 million occurrences.
Revised according to the new spelling, the work presents symbols that allow the quick identification of changes and notes, as well as points that point to controversial cases.
The design of this application was designed to provide a good browsing experience to the user, who can enjoy the content even without internet connection, after downloading data on the first online access.
This app also allows:
• consultation by voice, through search typed in the field “Search” and also by clicking under the words of the text of the entries;
• targeted research, using various filter categories such as: adjective, adverb, article, conjunction, composition element, interjection, numeral, prefix, preposition, pronoun, noun, suffix, verb, slang, foreign, among others;
• quick reference to any entry from A to Z;
• query for complete verb conjugation using infinitive form or inflected forms;
• look at recent search history and favorite entries;
• consultation with the accent, hyphenation and spelling rules of the 1990 Orthographic Agreement;
• access to the Word of the Day area and the Publications area, with a listing of posts about the world of lexicography, the author of the work, the use of the work in the classroom, etc.
