It is not broken, and cannot be fixed. It is an official change. Android users have been getting more xp than ios and pc users. You will now earn 10xp per lesson, 20xp per hard lesson and 40xp per legendary lesson. This is now the same on all devices.

So back to version 5.65.6, it gives significantly more xp since it`s the version before they reduced the xp. Anyone who wants to stay know the leader board should use that version. Also duo`s new path system beta sucks. I`ll never update.

XP it's just a number at the end of the day. Why did you install Duolingo in the first place? Wasn't it to learn a language? If so, the new path is optimized for that purpose.

You can not login any modified apk with google account. You have to convert your account into regular email based one. There should be a few tutorial about it on the internet.

Or, do lessons... You`re already having an easier time earning xp without watching ads. It`s not about the leaderboard. The xp update just makes it fair, since you now earn the same amount of xp as other devices. You get a double xp boost almost every level of a lesson. Use those strategically.

The UI feels kindy laggy and choppy on A13 here. Anyone else can confirm the same?

What's the fuzz about these XPs?
You get rewarded for finishing lectures, fixing mistakes. And sometimes they offer special challenges.
I simply do ca. 7 lectures every day, empty my error basket regularly. About 200min of time are spent in this app per week.
Learning Spanish this way gave me almost 90000 XPs within one solid year (at day 390). I am always in the Diamond league, even reached its pole position there. No cheating, no special challenges, just basic learning, >2000 words so far. Keeping 'King' level (6) in all lectures of the first two sections, about to finish section three at this same level. Ultimate goal is to hold "King" level in all three sections, to keep the memory fresh.

Isn't THAT the concept of Duolingo? It may look silly, childish, with this 'gems' and 'treasure chest' crap, useless rewards and some weird phrases ("Los pajaros leen el diario"..). But it actually does work for basic comprehension, more reading than listening skills, more listening than writing skills, more writing
than talking skills. About the same pattern for almost any foreign language class, IMHO.

My Italian and French improved thanks to taking the Duolingo Spanish curriculum.
I saw other language apps, tried some in parallel, but this Duolingo works best for my needs.

The problem is how lucky you need to be to stay or advance on leagues, i have really bad luck and I have to do 3000-10000 xp weekly to just stay on diamond league, getting 10 xp per lesson it would be really impossible to achieve unless expending all the day on Duolingo.

The problem is how lucky you need to be to stay or advance on leagues, i have really bad luck and I have to do 3000-10000 xp weekly to just stay on diamond league, getting 10 xp per lesson it would be really impossible to achieve unless expending all the day on Duolingo.

The xp isn`t getting fixed. If you are getting kicked out of diamond, it`s because people are doing more lessons than you are. Believe it or not, some people actually do gain 3000xp a day. Even with this lowered xp, I was able to gain 3000xp in only a couple hours (while cooking dinner) last week.

It is indeed extremely laggy on Android 12 as well.

Very simple. When the week ends, dont do a lesson until late next day. That way you will be matched with low XP earners who do classes late.
