Where is the data supposed to go?

The instructions in the OP are incorrect/vague. Unzip the "SD DATA" files in the root of your internal or external SD card ---> So there should be a folder called "Encyclopedia Britannica" containing all the *.prc data files.

Contains regular online authentication that is still alive. No longer works after a few days - works again with cache and data deleted but the loop is a pain in the ass

Online authentication check kills it. It's also a little too concise to be useful.
