ownhere Mod - With World Navigation activated
This map is for the country that cant use navigation on google map. It has been hacked and can be used by any country now.

Features:
worldwide navigation using Google Maps Directions
map tiles caching on SD card
force-enable MT. If you're on Eclair or some custom Donut and don't have multitouch zooming, then maybe this will enable it.
force-enable Buzz feature
fix for map shift issue in China
option to hide zoom buttons
installable on non-rooted devices

How to install re-sign version:
1. In Titanium Backup, select Maps and make a backup.
2. Select Maps and wipe data, then uninstall.
3. Select Street View and wipe data, then uninstall
4. Install maps5.5.0-ownhere-resign.apk
5. Go to market, and reinstall street view.

first uninstall Maps from /system/app

I have unrooted phone (HTC Desire) and i can not install Titanium backup in the first place. tried to uninstall maps from my phone, clean up data and install this version, but it didn't work. any suggestions? thanks.

You must root your device at first ,because Maps is system app, and you cannot manipulate (edit, delete,wipe,etc.) with system app without rooting your device....

Working great on my HTC Desire HD in Croatia. Only one thing, can I change language from English to some other (Croatian)? And how if possible.

I changed in the phone setting the language from english to spanish and now I have in Google Maps everything in spanish including the voice.

the only problem with this, is that you can't tell it the exact address where to take you. you can just tell a city

i'm with HTC Desire s-off on CM7
once i tried to install the maps5.5.0-ownhere.apk but there is no icon/apps wont run
then i tried to install maps5.5.0-ownhere-resign.apk but still no icon/apps wont run
so, how to install it?
should i install the original first? then do those steps you mentioned above?
or i could go straight to those releases?
btw, i cant download google maps from market. everytime i search for it, it says that the application is unavailable

STOP posting crap tutorials!!!

Followed this tutorial and maps would constantly crash. Couldn't re-install streetview. Had to reinstall the firmware to make it work.

Last time i'm following advice from this website!

Me as well i think hundred of ppl successfully installed it, it is always to understand, nobody inviting to come here n follow instruction. This forum is for those who are interested n trust this. author have posted hundred of post,
