"Free".... no... data connection isn't free!

How do we get a normal installer, or an alternative method for installing?
Or some sort of detailed step-by-step set of instructions?

Does this need internet connection so you can search for an address or are everything offline like garmin or iGo?

do all the versions allow ads in the app? i installed the original and the ads were there... i didn't know if the mod world navigation version addressed the annoying ads

Keeps telling me that "Data Connection is Lost"
I have a data plan activated, and i also tried it while connected to Wifi...

Any Ideas ?!

I guess I have to uninstall any previous Google maps application installed for this to work.
But how do I do that, I can't seem to find the way.I know that going to settings and manage apps doesn't uninstall the application so I don't know what o do. I heard people talking about rooting my phone but is there any other way?

I know this is a noob's question but I'm new to Android(been using Symbian and Win mobile so far) and could really use some help.
