Overview: See the location of any friend or family member, with their permission, through their cell phone
The GPS Friend Location app lets you:
- See the location of any friend or family member, with their permission, through their cell phone
- iPhones and Android phones are always free to locate
- For any other phone, you get 3 free locations. Afterwards, it is $4.99 per month (we use triangulation data through the carriers so we share the cost with you)
- See your friends’ and family members’ locations on a map
- Update locations on demand at any time
Carriers who support the friend location app:
If using the app on an Android phone or iPhone: All Carriers
If using another phone (US only): Verizon Wireless, Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile
Friend location for iPhones and Android Phones:
All you have to do is get the app installed on the phone of each friend you want to see the location of. As soon as that is done, create an account and invite more friends. As soon as your friends have joined your account, you can see their location on our Friend Location Map. For each person’s profile, you can also see their location history, request a location update and check-in with your friends so they get updates of where you are or you can push the panic button if you need help (with their location). This app is always free and works around the world (depending on your carrier).
Friend location for other phones:
Locating friends using other phones is even simpler. All you have to do is send your friend a text message invite to their cell phone number. When the text message is received, all your friend has to do is text a “yes” reply. As soon as your friend accepts your invite, you can locate him or her instantly on our map with the push of a button. We use the same technology that you see on CSI or Law & Order referred to as “triangulation.” Triangulation utilizes the cell phone carrier’s network infrastructure to identify a cell phone’s location. Because this data costs us money each time, we can only provide 3 free locations per account. Afterwards, you can upgrade to premium to receive unlimited locations for $4.99 per month. (Note: This premium feature only works in the US.)

Traveling, Vacations, Theme parks (Disneyland, Disneyworld, Six Flags), Nightclubs, Clubbing, Bars, Parties, Street Fairs, Day Trips, Camping, Hiking, Skiing Trips, Las Vegas Trips, Shopping Malls, Sporting Events such as (Baseball Games, Football Games, Hockey Games, Nascar Races, Basketball Games, MLS Games, College Football Games, College Basketball Game Days, Game Days, Olympics, World Cup, Monster Truck Events), Going to the Park, Wine Trips, Sightseeing, Museums, Beach Trips, Food Fairs, Festivals, Nightlife, School, Concerts, Road Trips, Airport, Train Station, Zoo, Safari, Protest, Rally, Mardi Gras, Outside Lands, Coachella, Natural Disasters (Hurricanes, Flooding, Japan Earth Quake).
