Google Maps v5.11.0 ownhere Mod - With World Navigation activated
This map is for the country that cant use navigation on google map. It has been hacked and can be used by any country now.

Features:
worldwide navigation using Google Maps Directions
map tiles caching on SD card
force-enable MT. If you're on Eclair or some custom Donut and don't have multitouch zooming, then maybe this will enable it.
force-enable Buzz feature
fix for map shift issue in China
option to hide zoom buttons
installable on non-rooted devices

Installation for root:

1. In Titanium Backup, select Maps and make a backup.
2. Select Maps and wipe data, then uninstall.
3. Select Street View and wipe data, then uninstall
4. Install Google Maps 5.x ownhere.apk
5. Go to market, and reinstall street view.

or ADB

first uninstall Maps from /system/app

Code: Select alladb remount
adb push /maps5.x.apk /system/app

Alternative installation method

Note:
For those who get the "Login Failed" message Pull down the status bar and press all three triangles and give permission then closing maps.

If you don't get the three warning triangles
1. Install original maps from market.
2. Sign in and join latititude
3. Back up maps in titanium, app and data.
4. Wipe date and uninstall maps
5. Install resign version. DO NOT RUN, reboot right after installing.
6. After reboot, go to titanium and restore DATA only.

the apk for non root phone does not work. pls check.

@infinity, I think this is resign version rather thn nonroot version.
Non rooted version usually come as changepng apk. if possible plz add it.

I am also on rooted device, did the steps above, and still not able to install. While installing, it says "Application not installed".

i am getting the same error and every few seconds i get maps has closed and it does not let me install new maps it says "application not installed". I have followed the above steps and i have a rooted device.

Not installable on non-rooted device. After installation I get an error message that the app was not installed.

Not able to install on rooted device.. First it said, it will replace another application, after conformation, it says not installed. On retrial, it says "not installed ". I followed all steps. Any solution?

worked after doing the ff:

use root explorer
rename to Maps.apk
go to system/app
mount folder as read/write
copy Maps.apk to system/app
change Maps.apk permissions to
owner read/write
group read
others read
press ok
reboot
it will be intalled automatically after reboot
