GPS applications, rather than GPS navigation software

MM Tracker v1.10.6 (Kitkat compatible)
Requirements: Android 2.2+, gps
Overview: MM Tracker is a GPS moving map application which can display legacy Memory Map maps (.qct map files). If you have the 2004 set of UK or France Ordnance Survey maps in QCT format, or any other .qct map, then they will work with MM Tracker.

If you have found the official Memory-Map app will not work for your device, or will not licence legacy Ordnance Survey maps then you should use this app instead. This version is the final retail version released before the app was withdrawn from the internet due to legal threats by Memory Map company. However, XDA forum has been making point-releases of this Android 2.x app by back engineering the apk to keep it working with Android 4.x and kitkat.

It has pinch-zoom for resizing the main map display, the map can be auto-rotated to give a 'track-up' map layout, and a compass can be displayed on the display. Other new features are also in this excellent app. The app uses the UK Ordance Survey maps from 2004 still available on torrent!

Thanks go to Cap73 for this version.

This is the final retail version released before the app was withdrawn from google Play).

It does not seem to need any special cracking - it works just fine, no serial needed!

For anyone who is finding licencing their legacy maps with the Memory Map app problematic this is a fine alternative!

If you are using Memory Map you may find this version of MM Tracker superior to it! I believe it out performs MemMap by a long way.

It doesn't work on my Galaxy Note: black screen and after 10s "Unfortunately MM Tracker has stopped" :(

Apparently there was a fix for Galaxy phones (S3, note, ...) in v1.10.4 - Any idea where to find it? The official app has been pulled from Google Play and Android PIT.

This is the newest version I have. Memory Map people threatened the author of this software and so he pulled it off the internet. Maybe he'd be willing to share it with us, under the circumstances? I believe he originally developed it on XDA forum under the alias/username of MapMan. I don't know if MapMan still freqents that forum though.

The patched version of MM Tracker v1.10.4 works on a Nexus 7 with no problems. The only thing not clear is the downloaded file appears to be a zip file. If you rename the zip to apk it works fine

(might be worth renaming the APK to something sensible like MM_Tracker_Multiwindow or summat)

Works for me on my Note 3.

Brilliant. Thanks for the information :D

HELP

I am desperately in need of help from anyone who knows about these things.

I have OS50 Area 1 & 2 both working with mmtracker, I have downloaded the rest of the OS50 maps from multiple locations and they work with Memory Map OK but when I try to load them into MMTracker I get the message:
Map has wrong format(version>2).
If anyone knows how to solve this I would be grateful.
Also when checking the files in Memory Map all the info i.e. year, copyright date etc are the same for each map. I am also having the same problem with the OS25 maps, r1 & 2 working but not the rest

mmtracker can only read legacy memory maps. this message seems to suggest mmtracker thinks some of your maps are non-legacy, ie new maps.

i have these maps and they all work with mmtracker.

the os50 landranger maps needed the dates changed to allow them to continue to work with mm for windows software. i altered my maps using a hex editor. only the os50 maps needed this editing as the memory map windows software won't display old maps. mmtracker does not check the dates. but whoever edited your maps may have somehow damaged the maps' binary header causing mmtracker to think the maps are not legacy format.

Hi, I have just installed MM tracker on my Samsung S6 and just getting to grips with it. I don't know what the two circles on the left hand side of the screen are for. also is it possible to hide the compass on the display.
