Thanks for the detective work! Sounds like more homework (installing Magisk, finding out how to uninstall Miui system apps).. Good to know what's preventing the patch to work.

I think you can maybe delete it using ADB. You only need to enable USB Debugging in Developer Options and install ADB on your PC.
