Do not forget to thank and support the developers! If you like the app, buy it!

this update fixes the booting problem I was having with the previous version due to switching on the 'weather' plugin, thank goodness!

I have a lot of points of interest that I added to the map, I also customised some of the settings, all of which I would lose if I uninstalled and then reinstalled the app as means to unbrick it

Not if you did a backup you wouldn't. You can use a local backup to restore your settings, waypoints etc after a fresh reinstall or if installing osmand on another device. Might not be a bad idea to backup settings on a regular basis (osmand and anyother application that allows you to do so) - that's the reason the option is there.

yeah sure, that is an easy thing to say by someone who already occupies the self-righteous position of taking the practical measures to prevent or mitigate potential future failures

nobody ever expects faults to happen, especially considering that things tend to work just fine around 99.9% of the time, which is one of the many factors that motivates the hesitancy to backup, lets not forget the drawback that backing up uses up storage space for an event that albeit inevitable, is likely only to occur 0.01% of the time (hypothetically speaking), that said, I already made the same recommendation in a prior comment that can be found by following the hyperlink that I posted in my previous comment on this page

it should be safe to toggle the weather plugin now without bricking the app, it is permanently off now

the navigation line and navigation in general seems to be working correctly

2.5D is a no-show on the device I use

In the version 4.3.0 I could change to OpenGl 2 (2.5D view) but with this version it is on Standard again and I cannot change it !!!

Before I updated to 4.3.1 I made a backup to be sure to go back again just in case something would go wrong.

I uninstalled 4.3.1 and installed 4.3.0 again and then imported the backup and now everything is fine again and I can chose 2.5D view again.

But even with 2.5D view enabled, I still see the view from top, nothing 2.5D !

Edit: I uninstalled the modded version and installed the official version from Play Store and that version is working !!!

this app is so OP that I am seriously considering paying for the real thing on the regular, that and to gain access to the features that these moded versions do not provide

as person who contributes to the very map that it is based on, this piece of software was made for people like me, in my eyre the developers deserve to be compensated for pouring all the effort they are towards crafting such a splendid app, I know of no other smartphone navigation tool that even comes close to this, its a one of a kind, there is no alternative

WTF, 2.5D and weather plugin work just fine in the OsmAnd app that I linked below, that said, it is in serious need of anisotropic filtering, the mipmaps at a distance are looking muddy AF

setting the 'map magnifier' in the 'configure map settings' menu to 25% in 2.5D mode is causing OsmAnd to crash in my case, the weather app is rather interesting

I do not understand why these features do not work for the app that this page pertains to (OsmAnd+)

hamburger menu > settings > osmand settings > map rendering engine

viewtopic.php?f=431&t=5068532&hilit=osmand

after installing the version that I linked above, I decided to copy all the files from OsmAnd+ to the version I installed (OsmAnd), doing so invalidated the 2.5D option and caused a bunch of other problems which subsequently led me to reinstall the app altogether

with regards to what I mentioned above, I 'moved' all the files from OsmAnd+ rather than copy them, which is what I should have done, copying them back helped resolve the navigation issue I brought up in a previous comment

with all this, the take away is, if it is not too much of a drawback to you, you might want to try doing a complete clean install if you are facing problems with OsmAnd+, it might help fix some of the issues that you might be facing
