With the previous version it downloaded the March maps, but now it has downloaded the January ones, despite having done a clean install.

There is no option, just don't click on the January map update.

Put them into maps folder.
If you want to use TT maps when starting navigation WI FI must be switched Off. When navigation is started WI FI can be switched On.

There is no option, just don't click on the January map update.

most app updates are NOT absolute necessary....they're just to attract/arose more user attentions

This is hopelessly borked, liek the previous release, keeps wanting to force January maps in Australia
