why is it that when i installed it on my hp touchpad, only maps app is shown, but on my phone it shows maps, local, & navigation? shouldn't it be just the same as installed on the tablet?

Do not bother. The new update screwed the pooch. It's completely useless. It feels like beta. All the old great functionality and user-friendliness is gone and it's buggy like hell. I was Navigating today from Chicago to Milwaukee and had to restart the app 17 times. They have this new stupid button called Start that comes up whenever you go away from Navigation. To access the main menu for example or even when you turn off the screen to save on the battery power while on highway Try to push that button again and the app force-closes.
Access to the maps (routes) you made in Google maps on your computer is gone. Navigating menus is full of glitches. The Google Navigation is an absolute POS at the moment.
