Last weekend I used aldiko and mantano for the same book (the same file, epub - to make it easy, basic settings) and the same amount of pages. Each day I started at the battery level 100%
for mantano it went to 59%
for aldiko to 71%
Is it weird? Or not at all?
I was sure ebook readers drain batteries in similar fashion but this is a significant difference.
Each time I used my mobile only for reading, no texts, no calls, no internet.
If this isn't a glitch, I think I'll use mostly aldiko.

BTW reading books on s3 isn't a VERY smart idea but it could be worse.

Actually I was so suprised that I forgot to use moon+

Yeah, I know, "books on their smartphones" but my s3 is nothing compared to a certain device with 2.4" and 240x320 that I used several years ago. I was so impatient that I couldn't wait to go home and copy the file to my computer and it was a pre-cloud era. And my device dealt only with txt files. THAT was crazy!

Question: does anyone experience aldiko installation vanishing from your phone/tablet? It does that repeatedly on my note 3. I am able to reinstall it and the files and bookmarks remain intact but it's really annoying.
Is it a new anti piracy measure? Should I revert to an older version to resolve this?
Thanks!

Hi
It's related To your sd card. Aldiko default installation is on SDCard so whenever there is a problem the phone can't reach the SD card anymore, aldiko will not be shown in the drawer.

I used to use this app for 2 years. The interface was great. Unfortunately some epub files doesn't show in its proper formatting. Nowadays I use Mantano. Yes, it does seems to drain the battery a bit faster compared to Aldiko. However, at least the epub files that couldn't be properly read then are now possible.

I like that Montano can import ebooks from dropbox directly to the bookshelf in the app making it possible to easily read more than 1 book at a time. On the other hand, I find this almost impossible with Moon+ Reader. Does anyone have suggestion if this is possible with Moon+ or Aldiko?

Moon+ better than both Montano and Aldiko because it supports mobi files and other formats. I just hate that I cant get books imported directly into My Shelf in Moon+ from dropbox
