2. Restart phone.
3. Install from google play free version of "Gtasks"
4. After install run the app, will ask you for allowed gmail account, click OK
5. Exit app and uninstall it.
6. Install this patched version...task sync will work for now on, like any other Premium features.

like any patched app which require Google+ Login or Sync API will don't work by default due the signature change.
Solution:
Install google play free version.
After install run the app, will ask you for allowed gmail account, click OK
Exit app and uninstall it.
Install this patched version...task sync will work for now on, like any other Premium features.
This is not a problem of bad patch if you ask.

still does not work, at least I cant get it to work

will work if you do a restart.

The problem is, any time I install the free application the account is already in the settings. Uninstall or/and restart does not remove the setting.

These are the steps I do for working sync...it should ask you for gmail account allow because is a different signature.

i did not tried this yet but how about this logic:

- install free version in play store
- do google sync
- backup with TB
- install this APK
- Restore data only.
