what with this trend of using crappy sites like filesonic, filefat and wupload? they force you to wait 10mins or more between downloads and messy input methods.

why not use sites like mediafire and megaupload?

Mediafire in particular; there aren't any silly captchas or waiting periods.

I would guess the answer has something to do with revenue; sites like mediafire don't provide any monetized benefits. Nothing else would really make sense.
