This is what I get when I try to add my Google account. Any workaround?

uninstall old version from your device, reboot, then download install an old version like:1.24.0-1585

Install this old version, add your gmail account, give all required permissions. Done.
Then install this new version over it.
Enjoy.

I have no problem with all latest mod releases.
My workaround is:
In the past after installing the old version and successfully adding in my Gmail account, then I immediately did the back up for Aquamail's setting.
Now even I uninstall the app and install with any latest release, I just need to import the backup file, I don't need to do any setup and there should be no problem with Gmail account.

Or use an App password to login to gmail.

Using "App Password" to bypass Google block:

Access Google account using a browser on the phone. Under security tab, there is a section "App Password" which generates a temporary password to allow an app to access Google. Generate a password, and copy it down.

In Aqua, don't use "Gmail or Google apps to register. Instead, select "Other mail" for Gmail, and entered my Gmail address plus the temporary password, and viola, gmail is set up.
