This is interesting. None of the dozens of ChatGPT mods posted has ever had a legit version of GPT-4 that wasn`t super watered down. Some questions can help to show how much the developer screwed around with the API settings to save money, but I`m still trying to refine my methods. I asked the official GPT-4 from ChatGPT Plus at Chat.OpenAI.com (which I will refer to as the official GPT-4) to, "Describe the history of the United States." The easy to read response was split into sections with titles like 1. Native American period (Pre-1942) and 2. European Exploration and Colonization (1492-1776). The AI Chat app's "GPT-4" responded with a bunch of long, boring paragraphs, which is the same approach taken by the official GPT-3.5. The same essential difference remained when I asked them to "Describe the history of the UK."
Next, I asked, "What is the meaning of life?" The response from the official GPT-4 (603 total characters) included brief descriptions of existentialism, the biological perspective, the religious perspective, etc. The response from AI Chat's "GPT-4" (96 total characters) included no mentions of existentialism or the biological perspective.
The nail in the coffin: "Write a mnemonic poem to help me remember the first 10 elements on the periodic table." The official GPT-4 provided an acceptable poem every time I asked: "1. Hydrogen whispers, "I'm alone, I'm first, 2. Helium floats, a bright balloon burst" and so on.
AI Chat "GPT-4" (in its entirety):
"Harry He Likes Bad Cats,
No Ordinary Fridges,
Many A Silly Peter Surrendered."
OK, maybe there was a glitch, so try again… here is the first part:
"Harry always knows little Ben & Kool cats,
Noah often finds naughty magnificats,
Adam silently climbs over peaks,
Sabrina constantly tries new squeaks,
Peggy's singing loudly, so high,
Claire cooks eggs, oh my!"
So yeah, AI Chat definitely does not include GPT-4 LOL!
