I've compiled Basic4Android's Libraries documentation into simple chm file, here's the download link:

i hope useful for all of you. :D

Hi Akuisal

The chm file does not seem to have any data in it. It shows the library names but no info appears when they are clicked.

This would be most useful if it worked. ;)

Hi People,

I have used the version of b4a first posted at the top of this forum, ver 1.50 and I have the librarys which is working perfectly, and I'm using b4abridge, I have designed a few apps with this and even sold one on the android market (I have a android developer account) and made some bucks :) as someone else suggested if we could pool our money we could buy a version for all of us and then we could share librarys, and stuff...my dad actually bought this a few months ago, because he is developing a android application for a company. maybe I can get some librarys from him and upload them 4 u guys :)

cheers!

Hi folks!!

I am brand new to this forum and I am interested in develop applications to android.

I was researching about and try to find something like language that I know most, Basic.

Since in this post people are looking for Basic too, here are the links to NSBasic 1.3 and Basic4Droid 1.7.

Basic4Droid - http://www.filesonic.com/file/4201371545
NSBasic - http://www.filesonic.com/file/2634158721

They are full versions, I tested.

Anyone here already tested the language on both? Which one is better?

Thanks!

I have used Basic4Droid and I will download and try out NS Basic and get back to you.

First impressions NS does not have anywhere as much support for features (libraries). On the plus side you create your apps as web apps. You then use a second program 'PhoneGap' that converts the app to a specific device's install file. Unlike B4A, NS Basic allows you to write for several phones including Android and iPhone. This means you could make your app run on several different phone platforms rather than just one. NS seems to have views (i.e. controls) that support all the standard expected ones (button, label, textbox, etc) and also image, video and audio. I don't know how many others are available but there are a fair few there on the toolbar. The older versions of NS Basic could allow use of Visual Basic controls.

The down side (for me anyway) is that the program seems to want to go online to do a lot of stuff. I am probably wrong but I got the impression it does a lot of its processing/debugging while online. B4A takes place only on your PC (although the help is sparse and you have to go online to the website to find most of the details you need.

Hopefully, someone who actively uses NS Basic will give a more detailed description of how it works.

Interesting...

I install both and NS Basic is really confusing to understand. This webapps in basic can be handy to develop to a lot of devices.

I will try to check te B4A to see what it can do it too.

Thanks for the help!

Hi all,

Can anyone help me how can I use C2DM with basic4android? There is a tutorial in the Official forum but there are files attached to it and obviously I can't access those files. So anyone with access to those files or if anyone can explain me how can I do it in basic4android, I would be grateful.

Thanks for the help.

I have been following the posts in this thread and i have learnt one or two things.
First is that our dear Erel - The owner of Basic4android is in trouble, actually if you go back to the history of
Basic4ppc,he has been doing quite well over the years even before Basic4Android and now that he has partnered up with google,he making huge sales.

The real problem here is that he has used a software protection mechanism that is illegal
and could land him in court. The protection mechanism overwrites your code if it detects
a problem with your key.The issue here is that before he 'perfected' his art, quite a few
legitimate users lost their source code - just go to Basic4ppc forums and search the posts going back to version 1.60.He replies to these queries of mysterious code loss by private messages.
If legitimate users who have in the past lost their code were to learn that Erel had been taking
them for a ride,i bet some would sue.

We might just have uncovered a major scam!

Just think about it :)

It's disgusting that he's doing that!

Has anyone had this happen to the V1.70 that fightinillini94 posted a link to earlier in this thread?
