KEYGEN FALSE-POSITIVES - a solutionXDA As was said before this is the old keygen we've been using since v1.90 and without any reported viruses too. I have run it a number of times and find NO viruses coming out of it. I am using the free Microsoft anti-virus program.
I am sure you know that all keygenning programs will likely be flagged up as a virus/trojan by anti-virus software as they use a similar base code. This is known as a false positive result. The only way you can really be sure no virus/trojan has been dropped into your system is to run the keygen and check for a virus. That is what I have done to create the licence file (below). I found NO viruses or trojans after I used it. There were none when we first started to use this keygen back with B4A v1.90 here on mobilism.
The file is only 100kb in size so I don't see how the programmer could make it do the licencing AND some other hidden function. Most people don't have numerous computers so cannot follow your advice to run the keygen on a less important machine as a test, so I have made an alternative solution.
As far as administration rights are concerned, Vista requires keygens like this to be run 'As Administrator' and I as an Administrator on Vista and were reporting that keygens didn't 'work' for them. Win7 also has this requirement at higher levels of protection settings.
This requirement to run an exe file 'As Administrator' comes from having to run this keygen WITHIN the B4A install folder. This folder is within one of the high-protection areas of Windows 7 and Vista; i.e. Program Files. Thus the need to let the keygen run As Administrator.
(I would have thought that a Senior XDA Moderator would have known this basic stuff.
