Overview: You love your Android phone as much as we do? You SMS all the time? Want more features? Then chompSMS is for you, with a great user interface, chat style bubbles, heaps of great features and THE Widget!


SMS messages are sent normally via your carrier tariff; or there's the *option* if you pay high rates (e.g overseas) to send them cheaper via the chompSMS network.

Version 4.1
* You can now configure the Keyboard to automatically appear in the conversation screen, making it much easier to start typing a text message! (Settings, Misc). Remember you can hide the KB by pressing in the bubble area as well.
* When you receive a text message during a phone call, you can now opt to have your phone vibrate and ringtone played (Settings, Notifications).
* Added the ability to "Lock" a message, so that it does not accidentally get deleted (only Firmware 2.0 and above).
* New improved MMS image scaling. In addition you can nominate to (when possible) not scale your MMS images (Settings, MMS Network).
* Added a None option to the list of LED Blink Colors (Settings, Notifications).
* Added Spanish, Russian and Greek language support.
* Fixed trackball not flashing issue on HTC phones.
* Reorganized and improved Settings.

Thx for sharing this awsome app. Only thing i see as a problem, which i dont even know is posible to fix is, that when i use Pure Messenger Widget, i cannot choose to open my SMS with ChompSMS cus it doesnt recognize it, since its called ChompSMS Donate.

Is this something that can be addressed?

I think the latest 4.2 version has an additional smaller icon sized widget with a message counter that you can place on the homescreen but some people are complaining that the update is slow. Hope it gets fixed and appears here on mobilism.
