Auto recording on Verizon Note 8 (Oreo 8.0.0) for phone calls placed over WiFi is not working

When I downloaded the Google Play version (most up to date, version 9.14.8, last updated 8/22/18) yesterday and activated the 3-day-premium trial, automatic call recording worked. Very strange.

Want to recant an earlier comment. It seems like call recording over WiFi is an android-wide issue. Not due to the apk. Seems like the recording that worked was a gimmick (possibly not for a call placed on wifi)
