I use various phones for work & installed this app with the issue of not working login so the answer of people saying don't logout does not apply to everyone... especially people trying this mod for the first time it was a great app

Okay here`s how I got this working:

*Rooted device required*

1) Install Textnow/2ndLine from Play Store.
2) Login to it
3) Install Titanium Backup
4) Click on "Backup -> Verify -> Uninstall"
5) Now install the mod version
6) Select "restore data" in Titanium & launch Textnow and you can login fine

I can report that as of today, this didn't work for me yesterday, you can just install the PlayStore TextNow app and do as directed above...

Login then... "Backup -> Verify -> Uninstall"... then install the modded ad-free app... then restore data.

I would do a backup of the installed working ad-free app once you get it up and running in case it's needed later.


All this has me thinking that a possible workaround for unrooted phones maybe to make an unchanged play store app that has ads etc that will let you log in but it is changed just enough so you can install the ad-free modded app over it.

When I try to do this now on an unrooted phone you get the error that the modded app has the same signature as an installed app error. Can this be done I don't know?

I believe the real issue with logging in appears to be on the server side.

When you're logging in with the working store app it does a funny little jump after it accepts your credentials to ask a question about setting up something. You can just hit skip and it opens the app with ads etc.

That last pop-up question seems to be where the modded app fails now. In the past, the server never asked this question which makes me believe that the modded app is very close to working if it knew what to do at that point.

I hope this insight helps in some way.

PS: bcpaint if you're asking that question more than likely your phone can't be rooted.

Here`s some news that not many may know as of yet... but apparently textnow is beta testing wifi-less texts and calls and I was approved yesterday to be a beta tester which I am stoked about because I live in Los Angeles surrounded by hotspots and wifi ap`s I can hack easily so why pay? Just an FYI-

ok so i captured logs with a free version from Gplay login thats successful:
You will see version 6.28 and starts signin which provides a signature. Which immediately triggers a IntegritySessionTokenTask which gets a response with a very long integrity_session_token:
