Found instalation of textnow 6.33.01 on another site, installed it in my unrooted phone and I was able to log in ! It does have advertisments, but it works!
Hope someone here will make it add-free and mod it.

If all you want is an app that will let you login and you are also OK with having ads just install the one from the market.

I finally got this working on a non rooted phone. Note ... my way will lose your number, account and conversations.
1. Log into Google account smartly password storage and delete textnow if there
2. Change the primary email address associated to your Facebook account (if same as gmail). I changed...

2. Change the primary email address associated to your Facebook account (if same as gmail). I changed...

...to a free outlook.com email.
3. Download and install patched version
4. Choose Facebook as login option and use new primary email login
5. Register new textnow and pick new number, share new number with friends/family

If you have a rooted phone you can get this modded ad-free version working.

My suggestion for anyone with a working ad-free TextNow install is don't touch it, don't update it.

If your phone is rooted make sure you use Titanium Backup and make a backup or two.
