I keep telling people that.

It's very possible at some point, a useless "update" may in the case of TextNow break your install and leave you no longer able to use any ad-free TextNow app.


PS: Goes without saying but if you're rooted and have a working ad-free TextNow install you should definitely make a backup just in case.

Are you rooted? If so you can rather easily get an ad-free app working.


Always keep in mind TextNow is really just an advertising vehicle for the most part. That and selling your info to third parties. Mostly the PlayStore updates are just new ways of pushing ads.


I've been a daily user of TextNow for many years and if it's ad-free I love it. On the PC it's easy to block their ads but on the app, it's only been possible with the modded apps.


I believe a solution to the problem of logging in on the app may be solved if the modders were to find a way to install modded over a logged in PlayStore app on unrooted devices.
