No problem in airplane mode, I used it for a month in airplane mode and everything was fine!

It's when you switch the signals off for your phone; it doesn't receive any wireless communications including phone calls.

I have this app and I usually leave my phone near me or at the end of the bed, and it still works fine. Anyway, if you left it on charge all night PLUS it was under your pillow, I'd recommend having a fire extinguisher nearby, just in case ;)
