As with any AV there's always the risk that it will slow it down - maybe it will or maybe it won't. There is no need for AV on android for now, just another AV company looking for $$ feeding of noob's fears. AVG is garbage on Windows so I wouldn't put this on my phone.

If you want info on hacking your phone (upgrading ROM, tweaks, etc.) XDA is the place to go.

Ummm ya, there IS a need for an AV on android right now with all the malware that was released on the market lately it's certainly not a bad idea and AVG being garbage? you're wrong because for the average user who isnt into warez AVG does a great job, I don't use it myself but I do set it up with many clients I deal with along with spybot they pretty much are good to go.

EDIT: I let this run for about 7 hours and managed to download 307kB out of 1305kB. Average download speed for it is 3 b/s! LOL.
