Overview: ROM Manager is a Android front end to the Clockwork Recovery image.


Features of the recovery image include Nandroid backup, adb shell, mount USB storage, advanced update.zip options (ignore asserts and signature checks), and file browser (so you can place your zips in subdirectories and organize them).

You MUST have ROOT access for ROM Manager to work.

You MUST have ROM Manager (Free) installed to use the app.

The Premium version of ROM Manager has the full list of ROM Downloads and OTA update support.

v1.8.4.1:
Fix NPE that occurs when viewing a developer homepage when none is set.
Support restore of sd-ext.
Cache alternate recoveries so that the option isn't temporarily greyed out.
Add new menu that allows people to flash older and experimental recoveries.

Should be premium otherwise it would be marked as the freeware version.

You don't need an updated version of ROM manager Premium, its is just a license download. so if you have any version of premium, it unlocks all of the features of the free version. All feature updates are included in the free version and unlocked by the Premium version.

Any chance at getting 1.8.4.8? I can't use this version, every time I open the Rom Menu it says to download the latest copy.

Mine seems to work just fine. I downloaded the free version (1.8.4.8 by the way) via the Market, and then "installed" the premium key. Every time I open up the ROM Manager, it says "Rom Manger Premium (Thanks!)"

You're welcome. Also confirming this still works after the newest update (1.8.5.2)

First I installed ROM Manager from Market (v1.8.5.2)
Trying to install the license key via adb won't work on my Hero (custom rom: Kimera 1.5).
Then tried copying to sdcard and installing, but it says "ROM Manager Premium License cannot be installed on this device."
Then I tried to install older versions of ROM Manager (v1.8.4.1 and v1.8.3.6) I grabbed from various places, and those won't install either. I think the apk in Market is Android-version specific, and so is the license key. (I'm running Cupcake).

Looks like the licence only works with android 2.0+
