Louder Volume Hack v3.6
Requirements: Android
Overview: The speaker itself isn’t of the highest quality but the Android Community wanted to squeeze as much as possible from it. A project then came along to improve the audio quality and volume and hence AudioHack was born.

Remember the Desire is basically a Nexus One underneath. Therefore it won't work anyway unfortunately. If you go to their website it will give you a far better idea of how this works and which phones it WILL work on.

From the website:
"PLEASE do not e-mail me asking for hacks for incompatible phones. It doesn’t work for a reason.

COMPATIBLE
T-Mobile G1 / HTC Dream
T-Mobile MyTouch 3G / HTC Magic / HTC Sapphire /
T-Mobile G2 Touch / HTC Hero
T-Mobile Pulse
HTC Droid Eris
HTC Tattoo

INCOMPATIBLE – currently being worked on
Google Nexus One / HTC Desire

INCOMPATIBLE
Pretty much everything else.
Anything branded, so any Motorola, Samsung, LG, Sony Ericsson, etc. will not work."

Considering the speakers of most phones are just a thin membrane I don't see the point unless you want a headphones only phone in the near future.

Because it fixes the quiet headphone out socket :)

Something that would be very useful on the Desire :?

I also believe it helps with the ear piece... which is distinctly lacking on the HTC hero...
It's meant to be used as a 'booster' not as something to "CRANK IT UP TO 11!!!!!!" 8)

I'll give this a go later. thanks!
