Open your file browser and navigate to: /system/etc/
Open with a text editor the following file: hosts
Add the following: 45.55.131.127 tuner.pandora.com

Thats it!

When you put it like that in the hosts file, you let Pandora think you are from the country where the IP is in, USA in this case.

I have a Playstore update Alert for Pandora V7. Has anyone tried it with the beta patcher as mentioned in prior post above?

Currently on Pandora 6.9.2 w/ Patcher 6.9 Beta 1 and I reckon the most important to me: No Ads, Unlimited Skips, MP3 Downloads, and themed widget all working!

I just want lo let you all know how to modify the IP address WITHIN the AdAway app:
*Open the AdAway menu and go to "Your Lists"
*Once there go to the REDIRECTION tab
*Add a new entry (+ Symbol in the upper right):
-Hostname: tuner.pandora.com
-IP(IPv4 or IPv6): 45.55.131.127
*Save and apply AdAway
*Done!

(GL)gamer765 wrote:based off that log it fails here: android.os.Environment.getExternalStoragePublicDirectory(Environment.java:481)
which according to AOSP is the following
Code: Select allpublic static File getExternalStoragePublicDirectory(String type) {
    throwIfUserRequired();
    return sCurrentUser.buildExternalStoragePublicDirs(type)[0]; <--- This appears to not be returning any value
}

When patcher tries to build the default save location, it doesn't get anything in return. I'll look into workarounds.

Actually, just read a bit further up
Code: Select all* @return Returns the File path for the directory. Note that this directory
*         may not yet exist, so you must make sure it exists before using
*         it such as with {@link File#mkdirs File.mkdirs()}.

So does the Music directory exist on your SD Card?

Hey, so.. this is what I now see in my log file:

"Reached maximum log size (5120 kB), further lines won't be logged."

That's never happened before lol

To fix what I said about 6.8 Beta 4, I actually had the 6.9 beta 1 installed. I did not realize I upgraded it. So what I said was incorrect about 6.8Beta4 working with 6.9.2. I had the latest 6.9 beta 1 which has been working fantastic for me.

So, to summarize recent discussion, with regards to the most recent compatible version of Pandora and Pandora Patcher (Pandora v6.9.2 and Pandora Patcher v6.9 beta1)...

>>> This is a bit redundant, given the big headline ^^ right here ^^, but I know someone is going to ask, so here it is:
As of today (March 4th, 2016) the most recent versions of Pandora and Pandora Patcher that work together are Pandora v6.9.2 and Pandora Patcher v6.9 beta1. (This means that Pandora Radio v7.0 will not work with Pandora Patcher v6.9 beta1.)

>>> People OUTSIDE the US have to make an IP change to their host file to get it working.
Here's the manual method:***
> Open your file browser and navigate to: /system/etc/
> Open with a text editor the following file: hosts
> Add the following: 45.55.131.127 tuner.pandora.com
> Save hosts file

*** If you use AdAway, you may want to make this change from within AdAway so that this change to the host file doesn't get overwritten when you update AdAway sources --- here's how to do that, courtesy of @ivanrosales :
> Open the AdAway menu and go to "Your Lists"
> Once there go to the REDIRECTION tab
> Add a new entry (+ Symbol in the upper right):
-- Hostname: tuner.pandora.com
-- IP(IPv4 or IPv6): 45.55.131.127
> Save and apply AdAway
> Done!

>>> Some people are experiencing issues w/ thumbs-up-downloading. Seems like the temporary solution to get thumbs-up-downloading working is to force the DPI to tablet mode. To do this, download the App Settings Xposed module, and use it to change the value of Pandora’s “Screen (dp)” to 600x1024. Then use the DPI setting as you please (There is also a DPI setting that you can change as you like, (@cyberone28, the user who recommended this method says that DPI = 440 that works for him.

>>> If you can't get Pandora v6.9.2 / Pandora v6.9 beta1 OR Pandora v6.9.2 / Pandora v6.8 beta4 working, I suggest that you revert to Pandora v6.8 and Pandora Patcher v6.8 beta4, as that combination seemed to working for almost everyone.
