Just stay at asking root permission and that is all.
I would blame it on custom ROM but same thing happens to my friend with ASROCK A500 tablet.
Both of us have rooted devices.
Same problem here. HTC Desire HD. Rooted, with rom Revolution HD 5.1.7. The version 3.8.0 works fine, any version above that hangs at "asking for root rights..."
And cant be because of custom rom, because I had the same problem with stock rom as well.

Also the same problem here - strangely enough also with HTC Desire HD, but on CyanogenMod 7.0.3. The device does not "hang" though, as the menu bar is active and available - only "asking for root permission" is displayed on the screen and nothing else... I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, etc, but to no avail. For me, going back to version 3.8.1 actually works

I finally managed to install it. The key is to remove the license key, first uninstall old version, then remove the license key, and after that install the new version. There is no need to key anymore, and it works fine.

Go to Backup/Restore, You will see green coloured item, these are usually settings n personal data, each data having prefix, like contacts for contact, SMS, APN etc, backup your desired data, N restore same way when you needed

wtf is with 20 different people cracking Titanium Backup? As a result we can never upgrade and we have to keep uninstalling and losing settings... sigh.
It will be posted soon.

Thank you it worked just like you said it would. I have it running now.
It took a few tries but I was able to get the new one working. Do you know if this will upgrade without issue?
